COLLECTION
TRENCHES
Horizontal
Collection trenches, unlike vertical well systems, offer complete
interception of contaminated groundwater plumes. With our
one-pass trenching technology the horizontal collection pipe
& high-permeability stone backfill are directly installed
in a narrow trench up to 35 feet below grade. Operating in
land benches, installations up to 50 feet deep can be cost-effective.

SLURRY
WALLS
Low-permeability
soil-bentonite subsurface barrier walls installed up to 50 feet
deep to restrict the migration of contaminated groundwater. The
cutting chain homogenizes the native soils as we simultaneously
inject bentonite slurry to create the low-permeability barrier.
With the radial turning capability of our trenchers a site can
be completely encircled for hydraulic containment.

PERMEABLE REACTIVE WALLS
Cost-effective installation of PRB's from
12-36-inch widths in one-pass. Parallel
walls can provide greater PRB wall thickness.
As with all our systems, installation is completed
without shoring and dewatering.

HDPE
BARRIER WALLS
For
sites requiring vertical HDPE barriers for containment DeWind
now offers direct installation utilizing our trenchers. Rolls
of HDPE are unrolled vertically in the subsurface behind the trenching
chain. Multiple rolls of HDPE can be joined together to create
walls of any length.
