History
of the Company
DeWind
began as a construction dewatering company in 1984. In 1990 we built
our first deep one-pass trencher used for installing collection trenches,
air sparging trenches, permeable reactive barriers and slurry walls.

Description
of the Technology
Our construction
method utilizes custom designed and manufactured deep one-pass trenchers
and delivery systems for installations in unconsolidated soils and sediments.
We build our trenchers in Michigan using both standard and proprietary
components. The trencher is a track mounted vehicle that has a cutting
boom that resembles a large chain saw. To our knowledge these are the
deepest, most powerful unconsolidated soils trenchers available in North
America. The trenchers have interchangeable cutting booms and can cut
a nominal 14, 20, 26, or 36 inch wide trench and average depths of 20
feet to 35 feet and up to 50 feet for slurry walls. A laser-guided system
allows precise depth control during installation. The horizontal pipes
can be installed on grade as necessary.
